History of Hundred Acre Wood
Hundred Acre Wood was first started in the North East room. It was named for the woods that Winnie the Pooh lived in. The rest of the building had all different types of businesses.
Some of the different business were Marvs Garden (resturant). Prairie Peddler, Mug & Jug, Quilt Shop, Beauty Parlor, Barber Shop When each one of the businesses closed or moved on Hundred Acre Wood would expand and take over the room. Making it the largest Bear Store in Wichita. They had all different kinds of Stuffed Bears and Bear Figurines.
In the year 2,000 they decided to close the store and rent the building to a friend. Who opened the NEW Hundred Acre Wood with a different concept. It would rent Spaces to other people who would bring in Market Items, Hand Made Items, Antiques etc. The year 2003 the owner sold the business because of health reasons to the present owner.
Some Vendors have come and gone, but some
have been with us for years.
